We area a family run florist and mini gift plant nursery situated in the heart of St Paul's Bay. With well over 20 years of experience, the creative team of Mark, Pauline and their florists can deliver the perfect floral gift anywhere in Malta and Gozo, using the freshest flowers and leading design skills on the islands. That's why over 99% of our customers rate us as a five-star florist.
Over the years we have strived to remain a step ahead of other florists on Malta by constantly looking for ways to further improve both the quality of the imported flowers and the wrapping and presentation of our arrangements - later copied but never improved by our rivals - such as our trademark addition of a small artificial butterfly to the ribbon that serves as a lasting reminder of that special moment, long after the flowers have gone.
As one of the leading florists on Malta, The Flower Shop specialises in delivering bouquets beautifully gift-wrapped in colourful, frilled crepe paper or other wrappings tied with ribbons. We also deliver floral arrangements in glass vases, boxes or other containers which are ideal during the very hot summer months. We cater for weddings, funerals, conferences and other occasions and our floral arrangements have decorated churches, hospital rooms, halls, hotels and wherever that special occasion is happening. That experience means when sending flowers to Malta, your order is in safe hands.
The cut flowers used at The Flower Shop either arrive on flights from Holland - air freighted to ensure quality is the very best - with some varieties imported from nearby Sicily or Italy, or grown locally - look out for the Maltese freesias and stocks in spring. In May we also have a type of lillium which in Maltese is called the 'Bastun Ta' San Guzepp' literally translated meaning St Jospeh's staff. This flower is shaped like St Joseph's staff and many religious portraits of St Joseph have him with this flower in his hand. This lillium has an extremely fragrant smell. We try to include at least one in our May bouquets which makes such a difference due to the fragrance of this flower. Plants are watered from rain water collected in our rain water well, with cut flowers placed in buckets filled with stored rain water. Water is a very scarce commodity on this tiny rock in the middle of the Mediterranean.
When sending flowers to Malta via The Flower Shop you can also supplement the flowers with a box of good quality chocolates, such as Baci or Ferrero Roche. We also stock cuddly teddy bears and small balloons. Depending on the occasion, we try to personalise the flowers with something small like a butterfly, a tiny pram or drinking bottle for babies, a sash with 'In loving memory' printed on it crosses across a funeral bouquet. We can also have names or emblems printed and fixed to the middle of a funeral wreath.
When it comes to delivering flowers in Malta and Gozo, since we cannot afford Brad Pitt or George Clooney to do the deliveries, recipients have to be content with Mark knocking on their doors, which is good for customers as they can put their mind at rest that recipients will be totally focused on the flowers and the message sent by their loved ones!
While we do deliver everywhere in Malta, everyone at The Flower Shop asks customers to provide as much information as possible including a house number wherever possible so that flowers don't spend longer than they have to in a van driving up and down looking for an address. Bearings from a landmark would also be very useful, such as 'house is directly opposite Ryan's Pub and next door to C.J.s grocer shop'. Telephone numbers and mobile numbers are also very important. We will only contact a recipient before delivery in the most desperate of cases so we won't give away the surprise!
Valentine's orders - please note that deliveries start on the 12th Feb. Orders placed for the 14th may be delivered before the date as it is impossible to deliver all orders on the 14th.
