Quick Facts about Gozo

Gozo is Malta's calmer, greener neighbour, a short ferry ride away but with a completely different feel. Life here is slower, and the scenery is softer. The landscape is dotted with traditional farmhouses built from warm, honey-coloured stone, and villages often centre around grand baroque churches that seem far too large for their modest surroundings.

The island is loved for its coastline. From the dramatic cliffs at Ta' Ċenċ to the red sands of Ramla Bay, there's a photo waiting around every corner. Inland, narrow country roads weave past terraced fields and smallholdings where locals grow everything from olives to grapes.

Spring is when Gozo really comes alive. Wildflowers blanket the countryside, with bright yellow crown daisies and purple mallow among the most common sights. The air is fresh with the smell of fennel and caper bushes, and prickly pear plants dot the edges of the fields. Farmers' markets brim with seasonal produce and cut flowers, offering a colourful taste of the island's rural life.
