    Quick Facts about San Gwann

San Ġwann is a modern residential area, but it still has pockets of history and green corners to enjoy. It's well placed between Sliema, St Julian's and the capital, which makes it a convenient base. The old parish church is modest compared to Malta's grander ones, yet it's at the heart of local events, particularly the summer festa.

One of San Ġwann's best features is Wied Għomor, a valley that offers a surprising slice of countryside in the middle of town. Walking paths lead past olive trees, carob trees and seasonal wildflowers. In spring, the valley floor is dotted with crown daisies and poppies, while lizards dart between the rocks.

Balconies in San Ġwann are often lined with potted plants, from geraniums to basil, adding colour and scent to the streets. Community gardens and small parks give residents a bit of green space, and the mix of modern life with traditional Maltese touches makes this a friendly, easy-going place.
