Same day flowers in Gozo
Just a short ferry ride from Malta, Gozo is a greener, calmer and somehow more timeless island. The ferry pulls into Mġarr Harbour, where the church of Our Lady of Lourdes stands watch from the hill, and from there the island unfolds in a mix of farmland, fishing villages and dramatic coastline.
Victoria, the capital, sits in the centre, crowned by its Citadel. From the old fortifications you can see the whole island — patchwork fields, rolling hills and the sea glinting in the distance. Out in the villages, life moves slowly. Farmers tend their fields, church bells mark the hours and quiet lanes lead to places that seem unchanged for decades.
The coast is a constant pull. Ta' Ċenċ cliffs drop steeply to the sea, while Xlendi Bay offers sunset views worth lingering over. Ramla Bay's red-gold sand is a rarity in Malta, and in spring the surrounding hillsides are covered in wildflowers. Crown daisies, mallow and tiny orchids add splashes of colour, while prickly pear plants mark the edges of fields.
Gozo is also known for its craft traditions. Lace-making and pottery are still practised here, and small workshops welcome visitors. Local markets brim with fresh produce, honey, cheeses and seasonal blooms. Even the roadside seems alive, with caper bushes clinging to stone walls and olive trees casting shade in the heat of the day.
There's a quiet beauty in Gozo's rhythm — the way light changes over the hills, the scent of wild herbs carried on the breeze, the sound of the sea on a calm morning. It's a place that doesn't rush and doesn't expect you to either, inviting you to slow down, wander and simply be. The same unhurried approach is taken with flower delivery, where same day delivery isn't available due to the lack of local florists on the island. Instead, do like the locals do and relax with a next day delivery of beautifully fresh flowers for all occasions.
